Announcing SWAT4LS 2015

The 2015 edition of SWAT4LS will be held in Cambridge, UK (with the hackathon located at the EBI campus in Hinxton).
This year we are changing the format of the event to a 2 days conference.
James Malone, Robert Stevens and Kerstin Forsberg are joining us as scientific chairs, local chair and industry chair for this year's edition.

Ontoforce challenge at the SWAT4LS hackathon

Our gold sponsor Ontoforce is proposing a challenge for the upcoming SWAT4LS hackathon: define a linked-data representation of people, so that author names from PubMed affiliations can be linked to a URI. We offer an iPad mini to that participant that is able to link most author names in PubMed to a URI. It is allowed to update on existing sources.

New poster submission and early registration deadline

We extended the poster and demo submission deadline on the 17th or October. After this date, we "may" still be able to accept posters, but not to publish them in the proceedings.
Early registration deadline is October 20th!

Announcing paper submissions deadline extensions

We have extended the deadline for submissions to SWAT4LS: the paper submission deadline is now September 30th (same as the poster deadline). Abstract for papers are to be submitted by the 22nd, in order to help with reviewers assignment.

Submissions are open, registration are open, updates on the program!

Submissions to SWAT4LS 2014 are now open, and registrations will open in the morning of September 1st.
Stefan Decker, director at the Insight Centre for Data Analytics, will join the current lineup of keynotes.
The preliminary list of tutorials now covers ontologies for HL7, natural language interfaces for the Linked-Data, rule systems, EMBL-EBI RDF resources and relational/rdf integration via ontop.

First keynotes confirmed at SWAT4LS 2014

We have confirmed the first keynotes for SWAT4LS 2014. They will be Andre Dekker , from MAASTRO clinic, NL and Maryann Martone, from UCSD, USA.
